Tuina Massage
Tuina is a holistic TCM method that regulates Qi flow, muscle tone and joint mobility — a cornerstone of cerebral palsy rehabilitation.
How the procedure works
Tuina is a traditional Chinese massage based on hand manipulation of meridians and biologically active points. Unlike conventional sports massage, Tuina works not only with muscles but with the body's subtle energetics in line with TCM: clearing meridians, harmonising Yin and Yang, strengthening tendons and bones, improving Qi and blood circulation. The method is effective in paediatric cerebral palsy — it relieves muscle spasms, normalises tone, builds strength, releases rigid groups, improves joint mobility, corrects abnormal posture and stimulates motor development. A separate benefit is improved local circulation, which prevents muscle atrophy during prolonged immobility. At our Huizhou centre Tuina is part of integrated programmes: paired with PT to amplify tone effects, with OT to prime the hand for fine motor work, with acupuncture for neuroregulatory potentiation. All our therapists are trained in paediatric Tuina and work exclusively with children.
