Description

How the procedure works

Multi-disciplinary team discussion (MDT) is a modern medical model in which specialists from different fields collaborate on the child's rehabilitation plan. The MDT at our Huizhou centre brings together rehabilitation physiotherapists, PMT specialists, speech therapists (ST), CME therapists and psychologists. The approach matters most for complex congenital, rare or multi-system conditions: cerebral palsy, autism, genetic disorders, post-TBI. MDT delivers four main benefits. First — a comprehensive, individualised plan that addresses every aspect of the child's condition. Second — reduced diagnostic error through a multi-perspective view. Third — cross-disciplinary collaboration that builds team expertise. Fourth — better family understanding and adherence: parents gain a complete picture of the condition and the rehabilitation options. The MDT may deploy any of our centre's methods: scalp and peripheral acupuncture, physiotherapy, therapeutic massage, PT, OT, sensory integration, speech therapy, pharmacology, acupotomy and pharmacopuncture, PMT, CME, collagen thread implantation, herbal-pouch therapy and Ponseti casting.

01

Data gathering

Each specialist performs a domain-specific assessment: motor, speech, sensory, behaviour, medical status. Findings are aggregated into a single case file.

02

Discussion

The team analyses the data together, sets priorities and course goals, selects methods and the session schedule.

03

Plan and family alignment

The coordinator presents the plan to the family in their native language (ru/en/Chinese), aligns expectations, schedule and priorities, and records feedback.
