MDT Consilium
Rehabilitation, PMT, ST, CME specialists and psychologists jointly design an individual rehabilitation plan for every child.

How the procedure works
Multi-disciplinary team discussion (MDT, Multi-Disciplinary Team Discussion) is a modern medical model in which specialists from different fields work together on a single rehabilitation plan for the child. The MDT discussions at our Huizhou centre usually involve rehabilitation physiotherapists, PMT specialists, speech therapists (ST), CME therapists and psychologists — each looks at the child from their own professional perspective, and decisions are made jointly. This format is especially valuable for complex, rare and multi-system conditions, where a single speciality is not enough. The main value of MDT lies in four things. A comprehensive and genuinely individualised plan that takes into account every aspect of the child's condition rather than an isolated symptom. A reduced risk of diagnostic error thanks to several independent specialist perspectives on the same case. Continuous exchange of experience within the team, which improves the quality of care for every patient. And transparency for the family: parents gain a holistic understanding of the condition, the methods and the real possibilities of rehabilitation. The plan produced at the consilium may draw on any of the centre's methods — cranial and peripheral acupuncture, physiotherapy, therapeutic massage, therapeutic exercise, occupational therapy, sensory integration, speech therapy, pharmacological treatment, acupotomy and pharmacopuncture, PMT, CME, collagen thread implantation, warm herbal-pouch therapy and Ponseti casting.
Data gathering
Each specialist performs a domain-specific assessment: motor, speech, sensory, behaviour, medical status. Findings are aggregated into a single case file.
Discussion
The team analyses the data together, sets priorities and course goals, selects methods and the session schedule.
Plan and family alignment
The coordinator presents the plan to the family in their native language (ru/en/Chinese), aligns expectations, schedule and priorities, and records feedback.
